THE CUBAN REVOLUTION

6 episodes x 26 minutes

Black & White - Betacam SP/PAL with M&E and Italian Tracks

On the 31st December 1958, at the head of his army of "campesinos", Fidel Castro enters Havana in triumph and brings an end to the 30-year-old dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista.

Begun in 1957 in the sierras, the guerrilla warfare was short-lived but bloody, with many daring coups in the islandís mountain areas and then in the towns, with attacks on barracks and ammonition dumps.

His romantic aura of the guerrigliero and having such a person as Ernesto Che Guevara alongside him, makes Castro more popular than ever and makes things easy for him as he radically transforms urban society, first with socialist leanings internally and neutralism in foreing policy and then outspokenly marxist,

anti-American and pro-Sovietic and these features still characterize the State of Cuba, as they have.
