Italian Sea Battles

From the feats of the battleships Littorio and Vittorio Veneto to the defeat near Punto Stilo. From the raids of the underwater special forces that in 1941 invaded the Alexandria Harbour and consequently sunk the battleships Valian and Queen Elizabeth to the superiority of the British Forces in the Mediterranean in 1942.

Submarines and Assault Warships

For the very first time in the history of the Italian Navy one single documentary presents the warfare of the submarines and the various assault warships. The operations of the submarines in the Mediterranean and other oceans are illustrated with exciting and rare footage. There are sequences of exceptional value of the Tazzoli submarine and the "pocket-submarines" in the Black Sea. The programme also offers an exclusive interview with the gold medalist Luigi Ferraro, who, in a reckless feat, sank two warships and damaged two others all on his own.

The Italian Navy at the Beginning of the 20th Century

This programme is a rare gem both from a historical and cinematographical point of view. Initially the cameras describe the conquest of Libya in 1911 and the war activities of the Italian Navy. The documentary presents extremely interesting sequences shot on two different fronts, filmed by different cameramen such as the capture of an enemy seaplane and the astonishing feat of Luigi Rizzo who sank the Austrian battleship Teghetof with a "Mas". The programme also describes the sea and air raids by both the Austrian and Italian troops.
